MCP servers for WordPress
Connect your WordPress site to Claude, Cursor and other AI tools through MCP, so your team can manage content in plain language while WordPress permissions still apply.
The Problem
AI assistants can draft and edit content, but without a connection to your site, someone still has to copy every change into WordPress by hand.
Giving an AI tool full admin access isn't the answer. You need a connection that respects user roles and leaves a record.
What I Do
I set up an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server for your WordPress site with tools such as @automattic/mcp-wordpress-remote, signed in as a WordPress user with only the permissions you choose.
Where you need more than content editing, I build custom tools in a plugin, for example to look up orders, members or events, or to run a task your team repeats.
Beyond MCP, I build AI features into WordPress sites and web apps, such as the itinerary generator in Safari AI.
Deliverables
- An MCP connection between your site and the AI tools your team uses.
- A dedicated WordPress user with only the permissions it needs.
- Custom tools for site-specific tasks, where needed.
- Setup notes for each person on your team.
- A walkthrough of common tasks with your staff.

Questions
What is an MCP server, in plain terms?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants use outside tools. An MCP server for WordPress lets an assistant such as Claude read and update your site when you ask it to, through the WordPress REST API, as a user you control.
Is it safe to let AI edit our website?
It acts as a WordPress user, so it can only do what that user's role allows. I give it the narrowest role that does the job, and you can revoke its access at any time. Post edits are saved as revisions, like any other edit.
Which AI tools does this work with?
Any app that supports MCP, including Claude and Cursor. Tell me which tools your team uses and I'll confirm before we start.
Does it work with WooCommerce?
Yes. Products and orders are available through the WooCommerce REST API, and I can add tools for the store tasks you need.
Do we need to change hosts?
No. The connection runs over the standard WordPress REST API, so it works on ordinary managed hosting. Heritage Hills runs it on GoDaddy Managed WordPress.
How much does it cost?
It depends on how many tools and integrations you need. After a short call, I send a scope and a quote.

Get a quote
Every project is different, so pricing comes after I understand yours. Here's how it goes:
- Tell me what you need. Email me what you want built or what's broken. Links, screenshots and the platform you're on help. I reply to every enquiry within one business day.
- Get a scope and a quote. I reply with questions, then a written scope and a quote. Nothing starts until you agree to it.
- Review on staging. I build or fix on a staging copy, and you review before anything changes on your live site or app.
- Launch and handover. We go live together and you get handover notes. Any bug in work I delivered, reported within 30 days of launch, is fixed free. I can keep looking after it after that.
